Carnaval del Sol - Latin American FestivalCarnaval del Sol

Description
Carnaval del Sol is back July 11–13, 2025, turning Jonathan Rogers Park into a colorful, joyful celebration of Latin American culture, creativity, and community spirit. It’s the biggest Latin festival in the Pacific Northwest, and this year it’s going even bigger — with themed plazas full of music, food, dance, and tradition from all across Latin America.
Plaza del Sol
This is where the heart of the festival beats! Plaza del Sol is the main hub, drawing the biggest crowds and hosting the main stage performances with both local and international Latin music artists lighting up the stage.
There’s a ton happening here — from high-energy dance groups and cultural showcases to exciting guest appearances and the big opening and closing ceremonies. With open seating, live broadcasts, and nonstop good vibes, it totally captures that true Latin party spirit.
Food Plaza
Bring your appetite! The Food Plaza is packed with mouthwatering dishes from over 15 Latin countries. Think tacos, empanadas, ceviche, feijoada — all the classics and more. They’ve got you covered with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options too.
You can also catch chef demos and sip on signature cocktails while exploring the bold, fresh flavors that make Latin food so loved.
Family Plaza
This one’s perfect for all ages! The Family Plaza is full of fun activities, music, and performances the whole crew can enjoy together. Over 120 talented artists take the stage — from musicians and dancers to theater performers, so there’s always something exciting happening.
It’s the second-biggest plaza at the festival and packed with energy, joy, and unforgettable moments for kids and grown-ups alike.
Sports Plaza
If you love soccer (or just wanna kick a ball around), this is your spot. The Sports Plaza is all about the love of the game — with mini-tournaments, skill demos, team matchups, and fun challenges.
It’s a super interactive space for youth groups, amateur teams, and anyone who wants to get moving, meet new people, and soak in the sporty vibes.
VIP Plaza
Looking to treat yourself? The VIP Plaza is where you’ll get the best views and a super comfy experience. VIP guests get front-of-stage access, private shaded seating, air-conditioned bathrooms (yes, really!), and skip-the-line entry.
Plus, they throw in free drink tokens, phone charging stations, and even a concierge to help you make the most of the day.
Artisans Plaza
This is the place to explore and support amazing Latin American craftsmanship. The Artisans Plaza is filled with stunning handmade goods — jewelry, art, clothing, accessories, you name it.
Lots of artists do live demos too, so you can see how things are made and hear the stories behind them. It’s a great spot to find unique pieces and connect with the rich cultural traditions behind the work.
Chiquitzin Kids Plaza
The Kids Plaza is a safe, vibrant space built just for children aged 2 to 12. It includes art workshops, puppet shows, musical games, traditional Latin storytelling, and beginner-friendly dance lessons. Activities are led by bilingual educators and artists who encourage exploration through creativity. All setups are supervised by festival staff and offer age-appropriate fun that fosters learning and cultural appreciation.
