The Culture Crawl Festival 2024 serves as a vibrant hub for a variety of exciting art events throughout the month. This annual celebration of creativity showcases local artists, bringing together a diverse range of activities for all to enjoy.
Every November for the past 28 years, the Eastside Arts Society (EAS) has brought the Eastside Culture Crawl Visual Arts, Design & Craft Festival to life, inviting the public into artists' studios across Vancouver’s Eastside. This vibrant event spans the area from Columbia St. to 2nd Ave., Victoria Dr. to the Waterfront, featuring a diverse array of creators—painters, jewelers, sculptors, furniture makers, weavers, potters, printmakers, photographers, and glassblowers—from emerging talents to internationally recognized artists.
Here's a brief breakdown of some of these events
- Take Flight: Festival Launch & Fundraiser
From October 8th to November 8th, 2024, Take Flight marks the official launch of the festival with an online silent auction and the return of the popular Art Roulette draw. The event supports the Eastside Arts Society’s mission to make the Eastside Arts District a thriving center for accessible art.
- Studio 101: Hands-On Workshops for Youth
Studio 101 brings school children into artist studio spaces for hands-on workshops, offering them the chance to engage with professional artists and explore ceramics, painting, and mixed media. This program fosters creativity and introduces young learners to the world of art.
- MOVING ART: 5 Senses, 4 Elements
The Culture Crawl Festival also features the MOVING ART film and video series, now in its 11th year, exploring the intersection of the senses and the elements through visual storytelling.
- Green: 2024 Culture Crawl Preview Exhibit
The Green: 2024 Culture Crawl Preview Exhibit offers a glimpse into the upcoming festival, with a multi-venue exhibition showcasing a curated selection of works by local artists. It’s an exciting preview of the creativity to come!
