It’ll be Christmas in July—well, December in July—in Vancouver this year. Oregon indie rockers The Decemberists have announced a Vancouver date on their upcoming 31-stop tour.

• Prolific Career: With more than two decades and nine studio albums, The Decemberists have made a significant impact in the indie rock scene. They've even set the music to “Ben Franklin’s Song” for the historical Broadway musical Hamilton.
• New Music: The Portland-based quintet will perform new music from their latest album, I’ll Be Your Girl, and their single “Burial Ground,” their first release in over six years.
• Unique Inspiration: “‘Burial Ground’ is in that time-honoured pop-song tradition, a paean to hanging out in graveyards,” says frontman Colin Meloy. “The melody hook came to me in a dream and I hummed it into my phone on waking. Most dream-songs are bad; this was the exception.”
