Description
Australia’s Ziggy Alberts will play Vancouver on June 21 as part of his New Love World tour. Known for his grassroots approach to making art across multiple disciplines, the 29-year-old will take the stage at the Centre for Performing Arts.
About Ziggy Alberts
Alberts released his first album, Made of Water, on his own Commonfolk label in 2013, establishing himself a singer-songwriter in the vein of Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. The past decade has brought platinum records in Australia (2018’s Laps Around the Sun and 2016’s Four Feet in the Forest). That becomes doubly impressive when one considers that mainstream support for Alberts is pretty much non-existent, his song rarely even charting on radio.

Devoted Following
Instead, the singer has built a devoted following through not only his music but through his writing and activism. A 2021 collection of poetry titled Brainwaves had him exploring the meaning of life from a deeply personal perspective. And Alberts commitment to the environment (the green-focussed New Love World tour will see him striving for a climate net-positive outcome) has been at the heart of his songwriting.
