Metallica, the legendary heavy metal band, has announced Edmonton as one of only two Canadian cities included in their massive M72 world tour. Fans can look forward to two electrifying nights at Commonwealth Stadium on August 23 and 25, 2024.

This tour supports Metallica's brand-new album, 72 Seasons, set to be released on April 14, 2023, via their own label, Blackened Recordings. The album, their 12th studio release, delves into the first 18 years of life, with 12 tracks running 77 minutes.

Vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield explains, "The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today."

In line with the album's theme, the No Repeat Weekends feature two nights with different setlists and opening acts, ensuring a unique experience each night. For the Edmonton shows, Metallica will be joined by Pantera and Mammoth WVH, promising fans an unforgettable concert experience.
