The Festivities

- Cariwest Parade (August 10): Don't miss the highlight of the festival—the Cariwest Parade! As the streets of downtown Edmonton come alive with vibrant colors and pulsating beats, join thousands of spectators in cheering on the parade participants adorned in elaborate costumes.
- Celebrations in Churchill Square (August 11): Conclude your Cariwest experience with a day of cultural immersion in Churchill Square. Explore the Caribbean Village, where you can savor mouthwatering Caribbean cuisine, shop for unique treasures, and enjoy live entertainment that will transport you to the tropical shores of the Caribbean.
A Celebration of Unity and Diversity
Founded in 1984 by the Western Carnival Development Association (WCDA), Cariwest is more than just a festival—it's a celebration of unity, diversity, and the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean diaspora. Powered by volunteers and committed to fostering cultural inclusion and unity, WCDA ensures that the legacy of Caribbean culture is passed down to future generations.
