About Animethon
Since its inception in 1994, Animethon has been a cornerstone of the Asian pop culture scene in Alberta. Started by student volunteers from the University of Alberta's BAKA (Banzai Anime Klub of Alberta), the event has grown into a vibrant gathering of over 15,000 attendees each year. Animethon serves as a platform for fans, creatives, and community ambassadors to come together, collaborate, and celebrate their shared passions.
