Welcome to the 2024 Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival! This eagerly anticipated event returns on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm, inviting the community to come together and revel in the beauty of cherry blossoms while celebrating the cultural richness of Japan.
The Festival
From 11 am to 4 pm, the Hanami Tent will be bustling with displays and demonstrations by local artisans. Visitors can admire bonsai trees, witness calligraphy in action, and learn the art of origami. Additionally, attendees will have the unique opportunity to partake in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, immersing themselves in Japanese culture and customs.
Over at the Sakura Tent, guests can enjoy an ikebana demonstration showcasing the art of Japanese flower arrangement, along with captivating performances by taiko drummers, folk singers, and dancers. The vibrant energy and cultural performances promise to captivate audiences of all ages.
Throughout the festival grounds, attendees can tantalize their taste buds with a variety of Japanese menu items offered by local vendors. From sushi to traditional Japanese tea, there's something to satisfy every palate.
