As participants hike through Canada’s largest urban park, they will uncover fascinating facts and rediscover the River Valley in a fresh and engaging way.
The Tour Experience
Valley Tours takes visitors on a captivating 3km walk through the scenic Mill Creek Ravine. This urban park, rich in history and natural beauty, serves as the perfect backdrop for discussions on the relationship between humans and nature. During the tour, participants will learn intriguing facts about the local flora, fauna, fungi, and fossils.
After the tour, visitors will be able to answer quirky questions like why Ontario released swarms of parasitic wasps, how dandelions are linked to the future of rubber, and whether squirrels are ambidextrous.
Tour Schedule
Weekends:
- 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
- 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Weekdays:
- 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
- 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Accessibility
Valley Tours is committed to inclusivity. While the regular tour follows unpaved trails, Mill Creek Ravine also has paved paths. The guides can accommodate various accessibility needs to ensure everyone can enjoy the tour. Interested participants are encouraged to get in touch to arrange a suitable tour.

Tim is a passionate naturalist with a BSc in Biology. His love for the natural world and desire to share his knowledge has led him to guide these eco-friendly walking tours. Tim’s goal is to excite people about nature and provide them with new perspectives on the environment. With a wealth of biodiversity and unique urban ecology, Edmonton’s River Valley offers a wilderness experience unlike any other city, and Tim is eager to reveal its hidden treasures to visitors.
