Description

The Ice-Climbing Experience is an exhilarating sport that offers both seasoned climbers and newcomers the chance to conquer icy heights. The thrill of ascending frozen waterfalls and ice-covered cliffs is unmatched, and with a variety of courses and drop-in options, anyone can give it a try. Whether you're training for your next big climb or just discovered that ice climbing exists and that anyone can participate, there's something for everyone in this challenging and rewarding activity.

Drop-In to Climb

For those eager to try ice climbing without prior experience, drop-in sessions provide a convenient option. No pre-booking is required, and climbers can purchase passes and rental gear at the ticket kiosk. First-time climbers are encouraged to book an introductory lesson or a private lesson to get started. Completing an online waiver before your visit can save time upon arrival.

Intro to Ice Climbing Course

The Intro to Ice Climbing course is ideal for beginners. No prerequisites are needed, and all necessary rental gear, including boots, crampons, ice tools, harness, and helmet, is included. This 1.5-hour course, with an additional half-hour for gearing up, covers equipment usage, belaying, and basic ice climbing techniques. Designed for those over the age of 14, it provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of ice climbing.

Private Lessons

Private lessons cater to climbers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their technique. These 1.5-hour sessions can focus on belaying, equipment handling, or ice climbing techniques tailored to the participant’s experience level. All necessary rental gear is provided. These lessons are available for individuals and groups, offering a personalized and flexible learning experience.

Intro to Drytooling

For climbers with some ice climbing experience, the Intro to Drytooling course presents a new challenge. Participants must be able to top rope belay and have prior ice climbing experience. This course covers movement techniques, different hooking techniques, tool management, and proper stein pulling techniques on a competition plywood wall. It's an excellent way to develop new skills for both indoor and outdoor climbing.

Events and Competitions

During the winter months, the facility hosts various events and competitions that bring together climbers from all levels. Leagues and championships offer opportunities for climbers to test their skills, compete against others, and celebrate the sport of ice climbing. These events foster a sense of community and camaraderie, making them a highlight of the winter climbing season.
