Description

Experience the thrill of human flight with Learn to Skydive | Solo Licence program. This comprehensive training series guides you through nine exhilarating levels, culminating in earning your Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA) Solo license.

Solo Jumps

From the moment you step into Alberta Skydive Central, you’ll be immersed in an environment dedicated to student skydiver development. Alberta Skydive Central is a top student skydive development center within Canada. During the past five years, their dropzones have produced more solo student skydivers than any other skydive center in Canada.

The AFF begins with a full day of Skydive Ground School. This interactive, media-rich, visual, auditory, and practical learning environment covers basic safety and flying principles for both freefall and parachute flight. Students must complete ground school before the Level 1 jump, which typically takes about six hours.

The Program

The AFF program progresses through various levels designed to build students' skills and confidence in solo skydiving. Levels 1 and 2 involve jumping with two instructors who provide hands-on guidance, focusing on safe exits, stable freefall, altitude awareness, and proper parachute deployment. Moving to Levels 3 and 4, students transition to jumping with a single instructor, refining skills like turns and freefall body positioning.

Levels 5 and 6 mark the shift to stable solo flight, where students exit the aircraft without direct instructor assistance, practicing advanced maneuvers and stability. Level 7 introduces low-altitude exits to simulate emergency scenarios, emphasizing parachute control. Finally, Levels 8 and 9 are pivotal for demonstrating solo skydiving proficiency and exploring advanced skills and maneuvers.

Program Details

The AFF program includes ground school training, nine skydives (eight from 14,000 feet, one from 5,000 feet), and gear rental. Students learn aircraft safety and exit positioning, freefall body positions, parachute system equipment operation, emergency procedures, parachute landing patterns, and basic skydive safety rules.

Advanced Learning

The AFF program is the most advanced learning program for student skydivers. It’s an intense, interactive, physical, and mental course that incorporates both ground and practical training. The two-instructor harness hold system allows for detailed in-air coaching, maximizing learning and progression.

With an instructor just a couple of feet away during the entire freefall, students get feedback and coaching, learning how new inputs impact their flight. The instructor also provides a safety mechanism, aiding in performance through increased confidence and self-awareness.

Alberta Skydive Central offers more freefall time than any other skydive center in Canada. With the highest jumps in the country, students get between 35-90% more freefall, allowing for increased learning and progression.
