DNA Gardens, nestled near Elnora, Alberta, is renowned for growing 19 varieties of Saskatoons, making it the oldest commercial grower of this berry in the world. This charming rural attraction offers visitors a delightful experience of Wine Tours in the Orchard, which features local products and the Delidais Estate Winery line of fruit wines and specialty liqueurs.

Experience a unique Wine Tasting Tour in the Orchard at DNA Gardens. The tours, conducted between May and August, provide an opportunity to stroll among the orchard while learning about each fruit varietal and the garden's history. The tastings take place at various locations within the orchard to showcase different fruits as they come into season. There are two distinct options for these tours:

Traditional Wine Tasting Tour

This tour includes a guided walk through the orchard, where participants can learn about the different fruit varieties and the history of DNA Gardens. The tour concludes with a tasting of eight 2-oz samples of wine, each crafted from the fruits grown on-site. Water is provided to cleanse the palate between tastings.

The labels on the wine bottles feature images and stories of the Delidais family, adding a personal touch to the experience. Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire are recommended. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes, with the duration varying depending on the group size, which is limited to a maximum of 20 people.

 Wine and Charcuterie Tasting Experience

Enhance the traditional wine tasting tour with a delightful charcuterie board, pre-ordered to accompany the wine samples. This option includes the same guided walk through the orchard and tasting of eight 2-oz samples, with the addition of a gourmet charcuterie board.

The board features a selection of Gouda cheeses from Alberta Pike, cured meats, tart cherry jalapeno jam, pickled red onions, candied cherries, olives, tomatoes, and crackers. This pairing elevates the tasting experience, providing a perfect blend of flavors to complement the wines. As with the traditional tour, comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire are recommended.
