About the Studio
Located among other thriving local businesses, Red Deer Pole Academy fosters a supportive environment for all fitness enthusiasts. Each class is led by a certified instructor and includes a comprehensive session that covers a mobility-based warm-up, strength exercises, skill development, conditioning, and a cool-down period. Students are advised to avoid using lotions or oils on the day of their class to ensure safety and effectiveness during their pole training.
Class Levels
Red Deer Pole Academy offers a range of classes catering to different skill levels and interests, ensuring there's something for everyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Each class is designed to progressively build strength, technique, and confidence on the pole.
Starting with Level One, students build on the basics taught in the Pole Foundations course, learning strength holds and spins. As they progress to Level Two, they are introduced to climbing techniques and more advanced moves. Level Three focuses on inversions and intermediate spins, enhancing fitness with complex moves and floorwork.
At Level Four, students perfect inversions, leg hangs, and master advanced combinations and techniques. Level Five challenges students with moves that require significant strength and flexibility. Level Six involves spending more time in inverted positions, mastering advanced aerial combinations and holds.
Finally, Level Seven, the most advanced level, helps students refine dynamic transitions, intricate sequences, and enhance their fluidity and lines.
Specialty Classes
- Pole Choreography: A four-week course where students learn choreographed routines, focusing on connecting tricks, combos, floor work, and dance to create a seamless routine.
- Aerial Conditioning: A drop-in class providing a full-body workout targeting muscles commonly used in aerial activities. Suitable for all fitness levels.
- Flexibility: Focuses on improving overall flexibility, which enhances performance in various fitness activities.
- Handstands & Balancing: Teaches the fundamentals of handstands and balancing, including drills for balance and proper fall techniques.
- Stretch & Strengthen: Combines flexibility and conditioning exercises to improve both mobility and strength.
- Foot Fundamentals: Concentrates on proper foot and leg extension techniques, essential for achieving elegant and precise pole movements.
Open Studio and Pole Parties
- Open Studio: Offers students the opportunity to practice skills learned in class. An instructor is present for safety, but practice time is self-directed. Open only to students of Red Deer Pole Academy.
- Pole Parties: Ideal for celebrating special occasions like birthdays, team-building events, bachelorette parties, or simply a fun outing with friends. These one-hour sessions can be customized to include fitness-focused activities, choreography, or chair routines.
The Nutrition Nook
