Book your family for an unique and exclusive experience Breakfast with the Bears at Grouse Mountain. Enjoy early access to the mountain to watch the resident Grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, enjoy their breakfast and learn from one of the wildlife experts about Grizzlies and bear conservation. This special experience includes a delicious buffet breakfast in The Grizzly Lookout, along with special gifts from Grinder and Coola.
Experience Details
Breakfast with the Bears will run on select dates from June through September. Attendees should meet at the Base Plaza, just outside of Starbucks, at 8:00am. The activity runs from 8:00am to 10:00am. During this time, guests will have the unique opportunity to encounter the bears up close while enjoying breakfast.
Guests are encouraged to wear footwear appropriate for a mountaintop walk, considering weather conditions. Ensure to allow extra time for parking and arrival at the base plaza. Grouse Mountain Resort reserves the right to reschedule or postpone activities. All tickets and products are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Breakfast Buffet Menu
Included with the Breakfast with the Bears experience is a delicious breakfast buffet in The Grizzly Lookout. The menu features a variety of continental and hot food selections:
- Arrival Beverages: Tea, coffee, water, and juices
- Assorted Breakfast Pastries, Breads, and Sweets: Market spreads
- Seasonal Fruit and Berries: Yogurt, granola
- Vine Ripened Tomato and Bocconcini Salad: Balsamic, basil

Meet the Bears: Grinder and Coola
Grouse Mountain is home to two orphaned Grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola. This special experience offers a unique opportunity to observe these magnificent animals up close and learn about their habits and conservation from knowledgeable wildlife experts.
Bear Facts
- Lifespan: Grizzly Bears often live to be around 20 to 25 years old.
- Speed: They can run up to 64 km/hour.
- Behavior: Active during day and night, but may alter habits to avoid humans.
- Intelligence: Bears have excellent memory, particularly regarding food sources.
- Hibernation: Adult males hibernate for a few weeks, while females with cubs can hibernate up to 7 months.
- Sense of Smell: A bear’s sense of smell is 1000 times better than a human’s.
- Diet: Grizzly Bears can eat over 100 pounds of salmon in a day.
