Description

Nestled in East Vancouver, Summer Skool stands as an intimate pottery studio, inviting enthusiasts of all levels to immerse themselves in the art of Hand Building & Wheel. Founded in 2015, they offer a range of classes from beginner to advanced, providing a nurturing environment for creativity to flourish.

Wheel Class

Step into the Wednesday evening wheel class for an enriching experience with the potter’s wheel. Whether you're a seasoned potter or a complete novice, this class caters to all skill levels. Led by Julia, the class covers fundamental techniques such as wedging, centring, and crafting cylinders – the cornerstone of pottery. Participants can expect to delve into surface design and glazing, adding a personal touch to their creations. It is a Wednesday evening class and runs from 6:30pm-9pm. With a maximum of six participants, expect personalized attention and ample room for creative exploration.

Hand Building Class

For those inclined towards hand-building, the Tuesday night class offers a delightful journey into slab building, coil construction, and pinch potting. Led by Julia, participants will explore various hand-building techniques while crafting bowls, mugs, tumblers, and more. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced potter, all are welcome to join this engaging class. Masks are optional, and with a maximum of eight participants, there's plenty of space to unleash your creativity.

Studio Drop-in Program

For experienced potters seeking a communal studio space, Summer Skool offers a drop-in program. This self-guided option provides access to studio facilities and a vibrant community of fellow artists. While there's a waitlist for this program, it promises a rewarding experience for those eager to explore pottery independently. Amidst the current circumstances, drop-in hours are scheduled weekly, allowing for a safe and enjoyable pottery experience. From wheel throwing to hand-building, the studio provides all the necessary tools and equipment for creative expression.

Online Store: Explore Pottery Creations

Summer Skool extends its passion for pottery beyond the studio with an enticing online store. Here, pottery enthusiasts can peruse and purchase an array of handmade creations crafted by talented artisans. From bowls and cups to planters and vases, each piece exudes craftsmanship and creativity.

Whether you're looking to add a touch of artistry to your home or seeking unique gifts for loved ones, the online store offers an inspiring collection of pottery treasures.
