Description

Squamish Valley Rod & Gun Club is passionate about fostering a love for Archery in all its diverse forms. Their team of dedicated Archery Instructors and Volunteers are committed to educating and promoting the sport, prioritizing safety at every step.

Indoor Shooting Range

Their state-of-the-art 18-meter indoor shooting range provides a welcoming space for archery enthusiasts. On Wednesday and Friday nights, adults aged 18 and above can drop in for some archery action. Additionally, Friday nights are reserved for Family Archery Night, creating opportunities for shared experiences and bonding.

Outdoor Archery Range

For those craving the thrill of outdoor archery, the club offers a newly developed outdoor range dedicated to the sport. Open year-round to club members and their guests, this outdoor range boasts a length of 70 meters, with a maximum target distance of 50 meters. Complete with a shooting shed and warming hut, it ensures comfort and convenience for participants. Future enhancements, including electrical service installation for range status lights, are underway to elevate the overall experience.

Experience the Timeless Sport of Archery

Archery traces its origins back to prehistoric times, making it one of the oldest sports known to humanity. Today, archery competitions encompass various disciplines, including traditional, recurve, compound, and crossbow.

  • Traditional Bows: Crafted from materials like yew wood, traditional bows evoke the spirit of ancient archery.
  • Recurve Bows: Recognizable by their forward-curving tips, recurve bows are commonly used in Olympic competitions, featuring materials such as laminated wood and fiberglass.
  • Compound Bows: Distinguished by their pulleys, compound bows store significant energy while requiring minimal force from the archer.
  • Crossbows: Held horizontally with a trigger release mechanism, crossbows offer a unique approach to archery, favored by many enthusiasts.
