Learn the ancient craft of bow making with Lykopis Archery's Bow Crafting Workshops. These immersive workshops are designed to equip participants from novice to advanced levels with the skills, techniques, and knowledge to craft their own bows.

• Introduction to Bow Crafting Workshop

  Start your bow making journey with a guided introduction to the basic tools, wood types, and techniques. You'll work with a prepared hardwood stave and learn the foundational steps of shaping your first bow. Runs 4 to 8 weeks.

• Beginner Bow Crafting Workshop

  In this workshop you'll build on what you learned in the intro course. You'll work with a hardwood board and learn how to prepare and glue a grip. Students will be assisted in choosing the tools to shape their grip and remove material to the tillering stage. Novice bowyers will be introduced to the skills of floor, long, and short string tillering and the use of a tillering jig to create a laminate American long-flat bow. Runs 6 to 16 weeks.

• Intermediate Bow Crafting Workshop 

  Start with a raw piece of wild hardwood and learn how to bring a bow to life from within it. You'll use traditional tools to shape and tiller your own self bow - a single piece of wood carved into a Flatbow or Pyramid bow. This workshop is great for those ready to take their skills further. Runs 6 to 16 weeks.

• Advanced Bow Crafting Workshop
  For experienced bowyers ready to take on a new challenge. You’ll choose from a selection of ethically sourced timber to craft a high-quality bow. (Please note: there may be an extra charge depending on the wood you select.) From there, you’ll be guided through the full process of creating a custom, one-of-a-kind bow. Runs 6 to 16 weeks.

• Duration: 6-16 weeks of 2 to 3 hours each, depending on skill level
