Their pride lies in providing a platform for both recreational and competitive go-karting. At the heart of EDKRA is their world-class facility boasting a 1.1km karting track, complete with pit stalls, RV camping areas, washrooms, a race office, and a tech building utilized for karting events and educational endeavors. Recognized nationally for their exceptional facility and race events, EDKRA stands as a beacon for karting enthusiasts.

 Karting Classes

At EDKRA, karting classes are meticulously structured to accommodate drivers of various ages, skill levels, and racing preferences. The breakdown of classes ensures that participants can find a suitable category to match their experience and aspirations.

  1. Cadet Classes : Designed for young drivers aged 7 to 11 years old, Cadet classes feature purpose-built smaller karting chassis. These karts are equipped with either a Briggs LO206 4-cycle engine restricted on fuel flow or a Rotax Micro Max FR125 engine with restricted fuel flow, air flow, and specific gearing. Cadet classes aim to familiarize children with kart driving and competing on a track. Adult involvement is often required to guide young racers on safety, engine and chassis tuning, and provide a positive influence on their racing journey.
  2. Mini Max and Junior 4-Cycle Classes: Open to participants aged 12 to 15 years old, Mini Max and Junior 4-Cycle classes utilize cadet karting chassis paired with either a Briggs LO206 4-cycle engine or a Rotax FR125 2-cycle engine. While these engines are restricted in horsepower, they offer more power than cadet classes, catering to improving racers within the junior age group. Junior classes typically boast faster speeds than cadet classes, with some variants rivaling the pace of senior classes.
  3. Senior Classes: Senior classes cater to drivers aged 15 and above, offering a diverse range of categories based on weight and engine package. These classes feature full-size chassis paired with various engine options, including Non-Restricted Briggs LO206 four-cycle engines, Rotax FR125 two-cycle engines, Rotax FR125 DD2 two-speed shifter two-cycle engines, or any 6-speed sequential shifter two-cycle engines. Within the senior category, there's also a "Masters" class tailored for drivers aged 32 and above.
  4. Four Cycles: Four-cycle sprint racing has gained popularity in recent years due to its affordability and excitement. EDKRA's four-cycle classes exclusively use the Briggs LO206 engine, a sealed OHV engine known for its reliability, cost-efficiency, and competitive performance. With minimal maintenance requirements and relatively inexpensive parts, the Briggs LO206 engine provides an accessible entry point for aspiring kart racers.
