Shows & Exhibits: Get Inspired!

The Planetarium Star Theatre:

Step into the one-of-a-kind theatre and embark on a journey through the cosmos. From planets to black holes, immerse yourself in the wonders of the universe in captivating shows suitable for all ages.

Films:

  • Forward to the Moon: Join the Artemis generation on NASA's mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the Moon.
  • Our Martian Neighbourhood: Explore what it would take to live on Mars and other parts of the solar system.
  • Surfing the Solar System: Tour intriguing destinations in the solar system and learn about the latest discoveries.
  • The Sun: Our Living Star: Discover the secrets of the nearest star and experience never-before-seen images of the Sun's surface.

Live Science Shows in the Groundstation Canada Theatre:

Prepare to be amazed by interactive live science demonstrations covering topics such as exoplanets, gravity, rockets, and more. These entertaining presentations offer insights into the latest scientific discoveries.

Hands-On Learning in the Cosmic Courtyard:

Experience the wonders of space with your own hands by using the interactive features to get a deeper understanding of some of the most fascinating facts and discoveries. Learn about deep space, climate change, light pollution, and the potential for life on other planets.

Stargaze in the GMS Observatory:

Take a peek at Vancouver’s night skies through the ½-meter Cassegrain telescope in our Gordon MacMillan Southam Observatory. Located right next to the Space Centre, this facility is staffed with knowledgeable guides who will answer questions as you explore awe-inspiring views of planets, moons, and star clusters.

Guidelines for In-Person Visits

Committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment, the Space Centre outlines guidelines for personal conduct and admissibility during visits. Visitors are asked to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Visitors must be clothed and wearing appropriate footwear before entering the Space Centre. Individuals actively concealing their identity by way of a costume or mask will be denied access. This does not apply to individuals following established religious customs and dress or wearing a disposable surgical mask for personal/medical reasons. Hand-held devices may be used to take non-flash photographs for personal use only.
