During the two and a half hour tour, guests have the chance to observe black bears as they forage along the shoreline, feeding on berries, crabs, and fish. Along the way, knowledgeable guides offer insights into bear behavior and the importance of respecting their environment.
Tofino's natural habitat is home to a diverse array of wildlife, and guests may also encounter bald eagles, seals, sea lions, harbour porpoises, and blue herons during the tour.

Prepare for Your Tour
To ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience for all guests and wildlife, The Whale Centre has a few guidelines in place:
- No food or beverages (other than water) are allowed on the boat during the tour.
- Guests are advised not to wear strong-smelling deodorants, cologne, or perfumes.
- Noise and movement must be kept to a minimum aboard the vessels to avoid disturbing the black bears.
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted on the boat or in safety gear at any time.
