Bouldering GymThe Hive
Description
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. Instead, climbers use large mats to cushion their falls. Bouldering routes are typically shorter than those used in traditional rock climbing, and they focus on strength and technique rather than endurance.
Trying bouldering in the gym is one of the best and easiest ways to start climbing. All the fun of climbing, easy to access, and Hive offers Vancouver’s most supportive community and most comprehensive range of training and development programs.
They encourage all new climbers to take an Introduction to Bouldering lesson; a two-hour class that
- covers all the basics of climbing
- how to fall in order to reduce risk of injury as much as possible
- essential tips and tricks to get you started and primed for success
- it also includes two weeks of membership to practice what you’ve learned!
