Whistler Sky WalkMountain Skills Academy
Description
This summer, immerse yourself in the breathtaking Whistler Sky Walk, a 2-hour guided tour atop Whistler Mountain. This journey not only offers incredible mountain views but also a historical perspective on the region's ancient glaciers.
The Walk
After a scenic gondola ride to the top of Whistler Mountain, you'll be equipped with a helmet and harness for safety. The hike along the cliff edge is both exhilarating and secure, with everyone clipped into a safety cable. Traverse small bridges and ramps, enjoying the spectacular vistas high above Whistler.
Preparation
The alpine environment can be unpredictable, so come prepared with waterproof clothing and additional warm layers. Comfortable hiking boots are essential, and if you don't have your own, there are options to borrow. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses and sunscreen, as the snow can intensify the sun’s brightness.
Capture your adventure with a camera or GoPro. For convenience, helmets with GoPro mounts are provided.
Educational Experience
As you journey, the guide will take you back in time, explaining the formation of the Coast Mountains glaciers over the past 10,000 years. It's a unique opportunity to combine physical activity with learning about the area's natural history.
Age and Safety
The Sky Walk is accessible to participants as young as 8 years old. Those under 16 require a guardian's signature, and there are options for private tours tailored for families with younger children.
Pricing and Tickets
Choose from various tour options, including packages with or without the Peak 2 Peak gondola ticket. After the Sky Walk, you can spend time exploring the mountaintop with either ticket option.
The Whistler Sky Walk offers an unforgettable combination of adventure, education, and stunning scenery. It's an experience that caters to both nature lovers and those interested in the geological history of the Coast Mountains.
