Description

Community Clay Studio stands as a haven for artists seeking a tranquil space to hone their ceramic skills. Bathed in natural light, this private Artist Run space not only provides a beautiful studio for independent work but also offers a range of Classes & Workshops to nurture and explore the artistic journey of its members.

Unlike government or investor-funded entities, Community Clay relies on the support and involvement of its community. If you are passionate about ceramics and wish to contribute, volunteering opportunities are available; simply reach out to them.

Classes & Workshops at Community Clay

With a commitment to quality instruction, Community Clay Studio ensures an intimate learning environment with small class sizes, allowing for focused one-on-one guidance. Embracing both wheel throwing and hand building techniques, their workshops cater to a diverse audience, from beginners to those seeking to refine specific skills.

The duration of each class session is a substantial 2.5 hours, occurring once a week over a span of 6 weeks (totaling 6 sessions). You are welcome to come 30 minutes before the session, providing an opportunity to settle in and engage with the instructor.

What tools should I bring to class?

Basic tool sets include a wire cutter, trimming tool, pin tool and metal rib. You may also purchase from us, instructions are in the Studio Welcome email.

Pottery Courses

Dedicated to meaningful results, Community Clay's Pottery Courses are meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience. Rejecting anything less than an 8-week commitment, their curriculum is carefully curated to maximize skill development. The overarching goal is not just to teach the techniques but to instill an intuitive understanding of working with clay, allowing individuals to craft vessels with love and precision.

Memberships

For those seeking a more flexible practice, Community Clay offers Drop-ins, a 3-hour self-directed session available to studio members with active memberships or enrolled students. Membership, which is billed monthly with an automatically renewing cycle, requires an initial 3-month commitment at all levels.

The Drop-in Schedule accommodates the diverse schedules of members, running seven days a week in the morning, mid-afternoon, and evening. Conveniently, the schedule and sign-up details are accessible online, with comprehensive instructions provided during the course.
