The Glow-Adventure
Guided by a Certified Paddle Canada instructor, participants will embark on an unforgettable night-time journey. Equipped with stand-up paddleboards fitted with submersible lights, each participant will witness the underwater world illuminated in mesmerizing hues. The experience includes a soothing guided meditation on the board, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the star-studded sky.
While previous stand-up paddleboarding experience is recommended, beginners are welcome. The guide will provide all necessary instructions to ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure. The minimum age for participants is 16, but children under 10 can join an adult on the board for a small additional fee, provided they bring their own life jacket.
Itinerary
The adventure begins with a briefing on paddleboard equipment and safety protocols. As sunset approaches, participants will set out on a leisurely paddle, marveling at the changing light. The board’s illumination grows brighter as darkness falls, revealing the glow of underwater plants and creatures. This two-hour experience concludes with ample time for meditation and stargazing.
Glow SUP Fireworks - Saskatoon
Glow SUP Fireworks offers an enchanting nighttime paddleboarding experience on the South Saskatchewan River during the Nutrien Fireworks Festival. This 2.5-hour adventure is open to all ages and provides a magical way to view the festival's spectacular fireworks from the water.
Participants will start their evening with a sunset paddle, watching as the board lights up with a soft, glowing illumination. As darkness falls, the vibrant colors of the fireworks reflect off the water, creating an unforgettable visual feast.
Gear
The Glow Stand-Up Paddleboarding experience is all-inclusive. Participants will receive rental equipment, including paddleboards, personal flotation devices, leashes, whistles, and headlamps. Safety gear, such as communication devices and a first aid kit, will also be provided by the guide.
What participants need to bring includes submersible footwear, warm clothing layers (base layer, sweater, rain gear, toque, mitts), an extra set of clothes, a towel, a water bottle, and optionally a dry bag for extra clothing. Transportation to the launch location is required.
