Sightseeing Cruises
The Prairie Lily’s sightseeing cruises offer a relaxing way to enjoy Saskatoon from the river. With informative commentary on the sights and history, guests can sit back and take in the views. The cruises last one hour, with boarding beginning half an hour before departure. Friendly stewards are ready to assist guests, and a beverage service is available throughout the journey.
The Sightseeing Cruise Schedule includes:
- June: Tuesday to Friday at 4:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
- July and August: Tuesday to Sunday at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
- September 1 – 15 : Wednesday to Friday at 4:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
Evening Sightseeing Cruises at 6:30 pm are available on the upper deck only, subject to capacity and weather. These tickets are limited and go on sale the day of sailing. Snacks and beverages are available on board, with washrooms and climate control in the main deck cabins.
Dinner and Brunch Cruises
Dinner and brunch cruises offer a unique dining experience on the South Saskatchewan River. Chef Kevin from Flavours Catering prepares the meals, ensuring a delightful culinary experience. Dinner cruises are hosted on the 6:30 pm departure, while brunch cruises take place at 11:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays. Luncheon cruises are available every Friday from July to the end of August. Advance reservations are required.
Feature Cruises
Feature cruises bring different experiences to guests, such as fireworks and sommelier events. These cruises are limited to 48 guests and are adult-only. The Nutrien Fireworks Festival offers an evening dinner cruise followed by a spectacular on-water view of the fireworks. Sailing with a Sommelier includes wine, scotch, and other specialty spirit tastings hosted by professionally-trained sommeliers. The Cruisin’ to Shakespeare feature combines a Prairie Lily cruise with a Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan performance.
The Prairie Lily Ship
The Prairie Lily is a 119-passenger riverboat with 700 square feet on both the main, interior deck and the canopy-covered second level. The ship is equipped with a bar, heating and air conditioning, two washrooms, and a serving galley. The upper deck can welcome up to 52 passengers at any one time. Propelled by two environmentally rated Marine diesel engines, the ship cruises at about 5 knots and is equipped with GPS, sonar, Marine VHF radio, and hydraulic steering.
Since its launch, The Prairie Lily has become a must-do activity in Saskatoon for both residents and visitors. Built in 1989 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the ship previously operated as the Fiesta Queen on the Colorado River in Nevada before being moved to Saskatoon.
